I purchased this wine aroma kit a few years ago, as a gift for my wine enthusiast husband (after several hints). I went back and forth for a but, as this one is a little on the pricy side and there are other options, at lower price points. But ultimately I went ahead with it. The cool thing is that even the kids were into it. They actually put down their phones and sat down with us for a while, smelling and trying to guess what was in each vile. Some are fairly obvious, right off the bat. Others take a minute to figure out, and we often found ourselves trying to narrow down a few different similar smelling fruits or flowers. Some drove us bananas (no pun intended), as there were so many “I know this smell, what is it?!” And still some others seemed so out of left field. Horse sweat? Nail polish remover?
Wine nerds rejoice! Overall, we are very happy with this kit. It’s a great way to educate your nose, and we found the aromas to be pretty accurate. Whether you’re a beginner, advanced, or just in it for the fun, this is a great tool to add to your wine enjoyment kit.
